TerraData GeoSciences is now offering Velocity Field PreStack Time Migration (VF-PSTM) using AutoImager, a patented technology, which we use to simultaneously derive an accurate velocity field for our pre-stack time migration. The migration is an anisotropic curved ray Kirchhoff algorithm using the Eta volume, which is resolved along with the velocities that flattens the gathers and focuses the image.

VF-PSTM corrects events that are in the wrong place in both space and time. It is an iterative approach, with minimal user input, which minimizes turnaround time significantly and avoids human error. It is a fundamental step up from conventional PSTM approaches involving auto-picking. The high resolution velocity model is suitable for reflection tomography and is the starting point for our Velocity Field - Pre-Stack Depth Migration (VF-PSDM) services.
VF-PSTM derives a true velocity field in a unique way. Unlike conventional velocity analysis, AutoImager uses four objective measures to derive velocities for migration. This allows us to build a more accurate velocity model and extract the optimum image from your data.
The optimum velocity model is a key component for visualization techniques such as Depth Migration, AVO analysis, and Elastic Inversion.

TerraData GeoSciences (TDGeo) uses our Pre-Stack Hyrid Migration (PSHM) as the input to our improved Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM). Our VF-PSHM efficiently calculates a 3D Depth Migrated volume using our 3D VF-PSTM gathers and velocity model as input. Using specialized 2D VF-PSDM functions, which collapse out of plane reflection/diffraction events into their proper in plane position, we update the interval velocity cube in multiple planes to generate a Hybrid - 3D Depth Migrated volume.

TerraData GeoSciences has teamed up with DMI to offer AutoImager, a patented technology, which we use to simultaneously derive an accurate velocity field for our pre-stack time migration, VF-PSTM. The migration is an anisotropic curved ray Kirchhoff algorithm using the Eta volume, which is resolved along with the velocities that flattens the gathers and focuses the image.
After VF-PSHM has built a structurally consistent interval velocity as part of our optimized objective velocity determination, VF-PSDM will do a final pre-stack depth migration updating to improve its efficacy for depth migration applications.
Importantly, our update approach is designed to still utilize much of the methodology that was successful in time, including the requirement of geologic reality through the Structural Constraints.
